Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival
On October 12th and 13th, we will celebrate the Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival at the Windsor Historical Society Church/Museum in Windsor Mills. I hope to see many of our old acquaintances. Good food and drink will be plentiful.
Local artists and vendors will be on hand to show and sell their wares. We believe that you will be pleased with the display of local talent. There will be games for children while the adults visit the church/museum and see our improved foyer. Then the whole family can walk to the Wiswell Road Covered Bridge, one of the county’s finest.
The Festival is one of our few money-making projects for the year. Besides a food booth, the Society will be having a Trash and Treasure sale. Any saleable donations to the sale will be greatly appreciated. Clothing is not needed. For more information, call Charlie and Janelle Sarbach at 440-272-5685 or Pat and Cindy Whitten at 440-272-5597 or WHS at 440 339-4943.

In 2009 we finally gave the Windsor Mills Historic Church (Christ Church Episcopal) a new coat of paint and some touch-ups. In 2010, we are working towards fixing the foundation and continuing to improve the structure of the church.
We are excited about these future plans for the Church; there are discussions that would provide the setting for the community at large, such as renting it out for weddings and intimate style events. And there are also discussions with Camp Whitewood to possibly coordinate these events and utilize their accommodations for receptions and larger events. The preservation and thoughtful use of the Church highlights the importance of archiving.
As you may know, the Society has a growing collection of historical artifacts, antiques, and documents, which provide a rich backdrop of the story of the Windsor area from its beginning. But there is lots of work to be done to organize and properly maintain these for the future as well as to display them for the community.
We are looking into the utilizing the Grange Hall for additional space for these projects as well as meetings, administrative functions, and other ongoing needs.
The Society is hoping that you will continue to be a part of our dreams and hopes to make it a valuable part of the community.
